Responsibilities

• Participate in Test Plan Design, Test Case Design and Test Case Execution

Job Title : Software Engineer - Video Storage Data-path Development

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data-path software on a video optimized storage platform, to support storage centric video applications. These new applications use storage in novel ways that presents challenges in data rate and availability requirements. Creating software solutions to overcome such challenges is the main focus of this position
• Develop features to extend the Intransa StorStac architecture in performance scaling and capacity scaling, to support unprecedented levels of storage system size and performance needed for video data storage
• Analyze system performance to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks. Generate solutions to overcome performance problems
• Identify system behavior during integration with different host platforms, digital video recorders and video applications from various vendors, make changes for compatibility
• Design interface with Linux kernel, adapt Linux kernel for the need of a high throughput data moving system
• Develop test for code changes and integration with overall system test strategy
• Interact with customer in initial product evaluation and subsequent deployment

Qualification and Skills

• BSCS/EE, MSCS/EE preferred
• 5+ years in Unix/Linux development with experience in multi-threaded software design
• Proficiency in C programming language
• Working knowledge of kernel debugging tools and methodologies
• Self-motivated and quick learning
• Working experience with SCSI and/or IP protocols
• Knowledge of Linux kernel internals
• Knowledge of filesystem implementation and behavior, NTFS strongly preferable
• Some proficiency in Linux system administration
