Intransa Partners with Cisilion as a Reseller of Leading IP Storage Solutions in UK

SAN JOSE, Calif. — April 5, 2004

Intransa Inc., the leader in IP storage, today announced it has entered a partnership with Cisilion Ltd. to deliver IP SAN solutions in the United Kingdom.

The partnership furthers Intransa’s aggressive expansion into international markets. Earlier this month, Intransa established major regional headquarters for Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) and Asia/Pacific, headed by two senior storage industry executives. The EMEA office arranged the Cisilion partnership.

Intransa has pioneered data storage based on Internet Protocol (IP). By leveraging existing customer investments in IP and Ethernet — including hardware and IT staff expertise — Intransa dramatically reduces the total cost of ownership of Storage Area Networks (SANs). This is a major advantage over the Fibre Channel technology used by most existing SAN solutions, requiring expensive, complex hardware and highly-specialized training.

“We are rapidly establishing an international footprint,” said Dr. Avi Katz, President & CEO of Intransa. “Finding good channel partners is the key to helping us build our European presence. As a top-tier Cisco Reseller and one of the UK’s Leading Security companies, Cisilion is ideally placed to bring our advanced technology to European customers.”

“Cisilion is very pleased be a appointed as a Intransa Reseller in the UK. We see the importance of iSCSI and Gigabit Ethernet for use with IP SAN for customers requiring large storage requirements or disasters recovery solutions at a much-reduced price compared to traditional FC SAN,” said Roger Paul, Managing Director of Cisilion.

The new partnership complements a distribution agreement that Intransa signed in February with Bell Microproducts Inc. (Nasdaq:BELM), one of the world's largest value-added distributors focused on storage solutions. As a networking specialist, Cisilion will bring Intransa’s IP storage solutions to customers via another critical channel.

“Since our product is designed to work with and work on IP networks, having a channel partner that understands networking is a significant benefit,” said Bjarne Poulsen, General Manager, EMEA for Intransa.

As the first native end-to-end IP SAN, Intransa’s IP5000 Storage System enables customers to easily consolidate, scale, and manage storage for high-data-volume applications such as Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle. Based on the combination of iSCSI and Gigabit Ethernet, Intransa's solutions offer all the robustness and functionality of Fibre Channel SANs without the expense and complexity of Fibre Channel.

The IP5000 Storage System is composed of independent storage controllers and disk enclosures connected through a standard Layer 2 Gigabit Ethernet Switch. By keeping the controllers independent from the ATA disk drives, customers have the ability to increase performance and capacity as needed without disrupting applications.
