Intransa Signs Thailand Systems Integrator Northstar InfoSys

NorthStar to Drive Sales and Service of Intransa IP SAN Solutions to Provide Disaster Recovery Solutions in Southeast Asia

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Jan. 31, 2005

Intransa, the global leader in enterprise IP SAN storage systems, announced today a partnership agreement with NorthStar InfoSys, one of Southeast Asia’s leading IT services firms. The agreement brings the leader of the industry’s most scalable IP SANs together with a leader in implementation, maintenance, and service of IT solutions to benefit small, mid-size and large organizations with the industry’s most capable family of modular, high performance IP SAN storage systems. Under the terms of the agreement, NorthStar has access to resell the broad family of Intransa IP SAN products in Southeast Asia.

“Disaster recovery and business continuity are taking on a new level of importance in Thailand today,” said Peter Srivaree-Ratana, managing partner, Northstar Infosys. “Our customers are now in the process of revamping their entire backup solutions as well as creating disaster recovery sites by either housing themselves at a second location, or co-locating with storage service providers. Intransa offers a perfect solution for Thai customers who are conscious about the best price performance solutions.”

Intransa’s native IP SAN product suite is designed from the ground up to leverage a company’s existing Ethernet infrastructure, and uses the power of TCP/IP networking and the advantages of ATA disk drives – making it a clear alternative to proprietary Fibre Channel solutions. Intransa’s patented IP SAN IntraStor™ modular architecture allows customers to seamlessly tune capacity and performance independently without requiring a major forklift upgrade. Growing capacity is as simple as adding a new disk controller or enclosure, which is automatically recognized and provisioned by Intransa’s StorControl™ software, without impacting performance or system availability.

“NorthStar offers organizations a broad portfolio of IT solutions and services that help them deliver value aligned with their business needs,” said Udi Paret, vice president of global operations, Intransa. “By leveraging the native IP infrastructure of the Intransa family of IP SANs, NorthStar will be able to offer its clients a complete, cost effective storage solution to address their cost and availability requirements.”
