Intransa IP SAN Powers E-Commerce Internet Engine For Softcreate Corporation In Japan

SAN JOSE, California / TOKYO, Japan - September 14, 2005

Intransa, the global leader in network-centric, enterprise IP-storage systems, continuing its expansion in Japan, announced that Softcreate Corporation, a leading provider of e-commerce solutions in Japan, has selected Intransa as its IP SAN solutions provider.

“With Internet infrastructure and services continuing to expand widely in Japan, there is a strong demand for progressive e-commerce solutions in the marketplace. Softcreate's acclaimed e-commerce offerings, backed by Intransa IP SAN solutions, are ideally positioned to capture a large share of this fast growing market,” says Mr. Nakashima, president, Macnica Networks, Intransa's distribution partner in Japan.

Serving more than 180 large e-commerce customers in Japan, Softcreate has deployed an Intransa IP SAN solution at its Internet Data Centre to take advantage of storage consolidation, simplified data protection, affordable disaster recovery, and the superior data management capabilities offered by Intransa's IP solution.

“We chose Intransa's IP SAN solution for our Internet Data Centre because of its ability to easily scale for performance and capacity, as per our business needs,” says Mr. Hayashi, COO of Softcreate. “The Intransa IP SAN complements our existing e-commerce solution offerings and we are working closely with Intransa to deploy IP SAN supported e-commerce solutions that will provide a distinct cost and performance advantage to our customers,” he added.

Intransa's native IP SAN product suite is designed specifically to leverage a company's existing Ethernet infrastructure, and uses the power of TCP/IP networking and the advantages of xATA disk drives – making it an attractive complement to proprietary Fibre Channel solutions. The Intransa IP storage offering is based on the company's IP SAN IntraStor® platform – a three-tiered architecture that allows for independent capacity and performance scaling – and StorControl® management software. Using Intransa's StorControl software, IT administrators can easily add an additional storage controller or disk enclosure on the fly – without disrupting performance or system availability.

“E-commerce solutions, typically characterized by high data flows and rapid data growth, need highly flexible, reliable, and scalable storage systems,” said Tom Alexander, president and CEO, Intransa, Inc. “Intransa's uniquely scalable native IP SAN solutions are ideally positioned to support Softcreate's e-commerce solutions and we look forward to further expanding our footprint in Japan through this relationship.”
