Leading Storage Company Provides Innovative IP Advancements for U.S. Customers
Innovative Products and Strategic Partnerships Accelerate Intransa U.S. Customer Count 70 Percent Year-Over-Year
SAN JOSE, California — June 13, 2006
Intransa, the global innovator of network-centric IP storage solutions today announced increased worldwide adoption of its network-centric IP technology in the first half of 2006. The number of U.S. customers increased 70 percent year-over-year. Intransa attributes this growth to continuous product innovation, concentrated efforts on the U.S. market, increased traction of its partner program and focus on new applications such as disk-to-disk backup.
Intransa's dynamic network-centric storage design and flexibility to scale to business demands and meet business growth goals have spurred customers in the U.S. to adopt its IP storage solutions. Tiered storage, seamless provisioning, greater IT resource utilization, flexibility and the cost associated with iSCSI have been driving factors for educational, governmental, managed services and healthcare customers to base their storage area network on an Intransa SAN design.
“We estimate that there are about 15,000 iSCSI SAN deployments supporting mission-critical applications and that number will double in the next 12 months,” said Tony Asaro, senior analyst for the Enterprise Strategy Group. “Intransa is one of the pioneers of iSCSI and offers a next generation storage system that is easy to use, scalable, reliable and feature-rich. These guys realize that iSCSI makes too much sense economically to ignore and that at the end of the cable you need an excellent storage system.”
Innovative Solutions for U.S. Businesses
Intransa's network-centric IP family of hardware and software solutions have replaced fibre channel, DAS and optical storage to support Microsoft applications, hierarchical storage management systems, expansion of workload projects, the ability to process and analyze data quickly and the archiving of data; in addition to providing roaming profiles and baseline storage for large, small and mid-sized companies worldwide.
“Our data storage requirements were going through the roof as our business expanded,” said Frank Migliaccio, director of network operations for Money Mailer. “Our legacy storage network had us tied down with very little space and costly upgrades. We knew we had to do something to manage our storage needs. We wanted something that could work with our existing infrastructure, would be easy to manage and most importantly, would scale and grow as needed without requiring a forklift upgrade.”
“The storage system from Intransa leveraged our existing IP network and gave us the performance, accessibility, and scalability we needed to meet the growth goals we laid out for the business,” said Eric Bass, Information Technologist, Cypress E&P Corporation. “Now our geo-science team has access to data in the field and we can add or subtract capacity as needed.”
Creative Partnerships
According to recent analyst reports the iSCSI SAN market is gaining momentum and is predicted to reach $5.1 billion in 2010. With the emergence of IP SANs, customers have a broader range of storage options to choose from and resellers and technology partners alike are demanding access to suppliers that can not only provide a range of products that are scalable and grow with a customers needs but can also provide a technology backbone that is flexible, in the network.
“With Intransa, customers can scale either performance or capacity independently,” said Kevin Weiss, president, DSN Group, Inc. “With its roots in networking Intransa's solution is IP-centric and consequently all of its products are enterprise-class and modular, these are just some of the reasons that selling Intransa is a good choice for our customers.”
“Our partnership provides a unique backup and recovery solution to IP customers,” said Dr Vas Srinivasan, Vice President of Marketing, Sonasoft. “Combining Intransa's and Sonasoft's technology innovation results in customers enjoying best-of-breed, high-performance solutions that work to create total protection for multiple Microsoft applications.”
“The Intransa IP SAN solution gives our customers powerful and reliable storage at a price point they never expected,” said Ed Ginty, Senior Director, Secure Data Group. “The solution integrates nicely into existing infrastructures eliminating the need to completely rip and replace its technology investments.”
Intransa's pure-play iSCSI product portfolio, software partnerships and key distribution agreements unleash the use of intelligent IP technology and address the growing demand for iSCSI SANs across the globe. Since its founding in 2000, Intransa has been at the forefront of industry innovation through the development of pure-IP based SAN solutions.
“Our emphasis on innovative customer solutions has clearly been successful, with our growing U.S. customer base responding to Intransa's best-of-breed high performance technology, ”said Doug Rainbolt, vice president of Marketing, Intransa. “Intransa's core-to-edge portfolio of IP SAN products and management software enables our customers and their partners to protect their investment with a powerful solution that exceeds their expectations.”
