Innovative IP Storage Provider, Intransa, Extends Support to VMWare Infrastructure 3

Intransa Joins VMWare's Technology Alliance Program, Offers Customers Worldwide Highly Available and Virtualized Server and Storage Environments

SAN JOSE, California — October 9, 2006

Intransa, the global innovator of network-centric IP storage solutions today announced support for VM Infrastructure 3 as part of VMWare's Technology Alliance program. As one of the pioneers of iSCSI, Intransa's full-line of IP storage systems will be integrated into VMWare's suite of virtual infrastructure software providing customers with highly available and virtualized, scalable server and storage environments.

As part of the Alliance program Intransa and VMWare will jointly develop solution stacks that provide increased value and cost savings to customers in addition to assuring interoperability and supportability of joint VMWare and Intransa solutions. VMWare's virtual infrastructure software combined with Intransa's pure-play iSCSI product portfolio will offer SMB customers the ability to do more with less by dividing individual servers into multiple virtual machines.

With the deployment of an Intransa virtualized iSCSI SAN in a VMware environment customers can enjoy the full benefits IP brings while improving operational and utilization rates by up to 80 percent. In addition customers can respond more quickly to changing business requirements by adding more applications and/or virtual machines to the virtualized server infrastructure. Intransa's advanced IP software automatically load balances data with each storage module and mirrors data according to customer's data protection requirements.

Intransa's dynamic network-centric storage design deliver customers world-wide with the flexibility to scale to business demands, reduce IT costs and meet business growth goals including tiered storage, seamless provisioning and greater IT resource utilization. Intransa's IP solutions used in conjunction with VMWare's Infrastructure 3 protect complete server and storage environments due to VMWare's ability to restart a virtual server on a different platform and Intransa's ability to stripe and mirror data.

“With a joint iSCSI storage and server virtualization solution our customers benefit from a more responsive, simplified and agile IT solution,” said Thomas Alexander, Intransa CEO. “Through the integration and support of the two technologies Intransa has taken the next step in delivering on providing customers with further choice, and reducing IT costs and we believe our integration with VMWare's Infrastructure 3 is a major milestone in this effort.”
