Global IP Storage Leader, Intransa, Announces Multiple Executive Appointments

Executive Team to Lead Company to Next Generation of IP SANs

SAN JOSE, California — March 05, 2007

Intransa, the global innovator of network-centric IP storage solutions, today announced executive management changes. Effective January 2007 Bud Broomhead has been appointed CEO; Lee Zipin, Vice-President, Engineering; Jeff Whitney, Vice-President, Marketing and George Vaiser, Vice-President, Sales.

The change in management coincides with the company's increased focus on its next generation of advanced IP SAN products, the StorStac System, and its unique set of IP solutions designed for the enterprise market.

“These are exciting times for Intransa, and our new management strength and depth of experience will help us to enhance and exploit our position as a worldwide innovator of IP storage,” Broomhead said. “With the advent of the StorStac System, whole new enterprise and vertical markets will now be available to Intransa, and our talented team of executives will ensure delivery of new levels of operational performance and customer satisfaction.”

Broomhead brings to Intransa two decades of executive experience in the technology arena. Most recently he was senior vice president at Topio Inc., which was acquired by Network Appliance. Prior to Topio, Broomhead served as CEO and co-founder of startup IRL Networks and was previously at Sun Microsystems where he targeted new lines of business through mergers and acquisitions. He also co-founded and served as chief operating officer of HighGround Systems, a pioneer in Storage Resource Management software. Earlier, Broomhead had been general manager of EMEA for Auspex Systems.

Lee Zipin, Jeff Whitney and George Vaiser join Broomhead as part of Intransa's new executive team.

As vice president of engineering Lee Zipin, an Intransa Fellow, helped define development of next-generation storage architectures before his promotion to lead the entire engineering, research and development organization. Zipin brings a quarter century of experience in engineering and marketing roles and co-founded LuxN as chief architect and VP of engineering. Vice president of marketing Jeff Whitney has twenty plus years in the high tech industry, building, launching and managing new products, services and companies. He served as VP of worldwide marketing and channels for MaXXan Systems, and led iSCSI storage business development and channel marketing for Network Appliance after acquisition of Spinnaker Networks. Whitney earlier served as VP of business development and marketing at Fujitsu Technology. And Vaiser has extensive sales leadership experience with emerging growth companies, previously serving as VP sales at MaXXan Systems. He also led HPC sales at NetApp, and the west area for Spinnaker and Auspex.

“With a major funding round in late 2006, a rapidly growing customer base, strong partnerships and outstanding products, the only missing component was proven leadership,” said Broomhead. “We now have that in place, and 2007 is going to be a great year for the company, our business partners and most importantly, our customers.”
