Intransa 10Gb IP Storage Wins Best In Show at INTEROP Tokyo

StorStac PCU100 Chosen for Superior Performance and Ability to Scale Independently

TOKYO, Japan and SAN JOSE, California — June 18, 2007

Intransa, the global innovator of network-centric IP storage solutions, today announced that its recently announced Intransa 10 gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) Performance Controller Unit (PCU) 100 storage solution has been named Best In Show in the PC, Server, Storage and Hardware Peripherals category at INTEROP Tokyo, Japan. The Intransa StorStac 10GbE PCU100 is the latest high performance member of the Intransa StorStac IP storage system family, and supports 1, 2 and 10GbE interfaces with scalability of 3.75 to 1,000 terabytes of RAID-protected IP storage.

The Intransa 10GbE PCU100 was singled out as the most scalable and powerful storage system at the INTEROP show. Macnica Networks, an Intransa StorPartner Channel Program member, provided the Intransa 10GbE PCU100 system awarded at INTEROP Tokyo. “The Intransa StorStac PCU100 is optimized for content rich server and network-based applications such as storage consolidation, video surveillance, digital media, imaging, data mining, IPTV and video on demand,” said Jun Ikeda, vice president, sales and marketing of network solutions, Macnica Networks. “We were very pleased that the show committee recognized the outstanding capabilities that the Intransa PCU100 delivers to customers at a fraction of the cost of Fibre Channel.”

The Intransa StorStac 10GbE PCU100 product addresses state-of-the-art performance and is designed to support rapidly expanding data storage and business applications for enterprise storage area network (SAN) and content rich applications. By utilizing an Intransa storage system organizations can independently scale performance and availability by adding performance controllers. In addition storage enclosures can be added to increase spindles for performance and capacity, all in a single, centrally managed system.

“Although the StorStac 10GbE PCU100 is new to the Japanese market,” continued Ikeda. “Macnica believes that our customers will gain much value with Intransa's StorStac 10GbE PCU100, the first solution that can affordably grow from just a few terabytes to a petabyte.”

StorAlliance Technology Partner Program member Neterion has been instrumental to the early success of the Intransa StorStac 10 GbE PCU100. “As the first enterprise class, scalable IP storage to take full advantage of the power of 10 gigabit Ethernet Intransa's 10GbE PCU100 is ideal for rich content and streaming data applications,” stated Philippe Levy, vice president of marketing at Neterion. “Neterion's Xframe® V-NIC adapters featuring Hyperframe virtualization technology are a key component to Intransa's strategy. They are used at both ends of the 10 GbE link, in the StorStac 10GbE PCU100 as iSCSI target HBAs, and on client systems, as iSCSI initiators.”

The Best in Show awarded at INTEROP Tokyo is the latest recognition of Intransa's independently scalable StorStac 10GbE PCU100 System. InfoWorld, a United States-based publication, earlier designated the StorStac 10GbE PCU100 as “Excellent,” with a ranking of 9 out of 10 in each category recognizing StorStac's outstanding performance, management, reliability, scalability and value.

“Our customers have come to rely on the high performance and independent scalability of Intransa StorStac Systems,” said Jeff Whitney, Intransa vice president of marketing. “We are very pleased to receive this prestigious industry recognition from INTEROP Tokyo, as it reinforces our market leadership and further demonstrates our ability to deliver solutions that address customers' most critical performance and capacity needs.”

INTEROP Tokyo was held June 11- 15, and is one of the industry's best attended and leading information technology events in the Japanese market. The Intransa StorStac 10GbE PCU100 was selected by show's technology committee as Best in Show for PCs, Servers, Storage and Hardware Peripherals.

Intransa StorStac Systems are available from Macnica Networks, based in Yokohama, Japan and from StorPartner Channel Partner Program members around the world.
