Intransa Expands Channel Partnerships for StorStac IP Systems
Advanced IP Technology, Fully Scalable Products and Industry Leadership Combine with Strong Margin Opportunities To Attract New StorPartner Channel Program Members
SAN JOSE, California — June 19, 2007
Intransa, the global innovator of network-centric IP storage solutions, today announced that it has expanded and enhanced its StorPartner Channel Program and has signed multiple new members. The latest to join the program complement Intransa's strong portfolio of IP storage, video surveillance, digital media, imaging, and networking experts, expanding the company's global coverage. The upgraded StorPartner Channel Program ensures that value-added resellers and system integrators are provided the most innovative products in the marketplace, excellent service and competitively priced products.
“The StorStac products from Intransa give us the ability to easily integrate into our customer's IP infrastructure and then match growth with performance and capacity needs,” said David Gibson, Managing Director, ComputerTech, a StorPartner Channel Program member.
Partners who have joined Intransa's StorPartner Channel Program have access to the complete, award-winning StorStac System line. George Vaiser, Intransa's vice president of sales commented, “We offer our products exclusively through our StorPartners, and don't sell directly to end user customers to avoid any conflict between Intransa and our channel program members. Instead, our regional sales teams around the world are there to help our StorPartners be as successful as they can be.”
“Intransa's StorStac System is architected for network based applications,” said Kurt Nordquist, Regional Director of Marketing at NWN Corporation. “This is a real advantage for our customers.”
Others agree. “The Intransa StorStac advanced architecture allows us to offer IP systems that meet our clients' specific storage needs. With independent scalability of performance and capacity, the Intransa solution keeps our clients' storage total cost of ownership in line,” said Pamela Sun, CEO, AVANU.
“Intransa's StorStac PCU100 system with 10 GbE support is ideal for our educational and image management applications,” said Tom Cecchini, CEO of Async Associates.
Members are able to take advantage of the StorPartner Channel Program, designed to dramatically reduce the time-to-revenue for members. Components include sales and marketing tools, StorFund business development accumulation, generous demonstration system discounts through Intransa's StorDemo program, plus market and technical training delivered through the Intransa StorAcademy. The objective is to quickly enable resellers to become proficient in the sale and, when appropriate, support Intransa products in order to build, maintain and grow sales momentum.
“Intransa's StorStac architecture and proven IP technology with Linux support gives us the ability to offer truly cost effective SAN solutions to meet our customer's performance and capacity needs,” said Shawn Herrera, President of Mazda Technologies, a StorPartner with strong expertise in 10GbE. In addition to Linux, Intransa is also a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and a VMWare Technology Alliance Partner.
Richard W. Kuhar, President of Arkay Inc., said, “The StorStac Systems from Intransa give us the ability to easily integrate into our customers' 10GbE IP infrastructures while meeting their ever-growing requirements for performance and capacity.”
Enterprise SANs based on iSCSI/IP standards have rapidly expanded to support a wide variety of data storage and business applications. Shipping IP storage solutions for the past five years, Intransa's StorStac System family is specifically optimized for content rich server and network-based applications such as digital content and streaming data applications. Typically, these include video on-demand, IPTV, digital imaging, video surveillance and data mining. Customers also deploy Intransa solutions for storage consolidation, backup and recovery, disk libraries, and other traditional IT applications at a fraction of the price of Fibre Channel.
“The IP SAN StorStac solution from Intransa is a real benefit to our financial customers,” said Will Wester, CEO of NS-Consult. “Intransa StorStac Systems afford our financial and larger customers the ability to quickly install and grow incrementally to meet their needs.”
In May, Intransa announced the industry's first certification program to enable vendors to test, tune and certify applications with the latest scalable, enterprise 10 GbE storage. ICM vendor ABREVITY was the first software vendor to complete the testing program, while hardware vendors Neterion and Fujitsu were among the first IHVs. Many other ISVs and IHVs are in various stages of testing and certification at the Intransa StorAlliance Technology Partner Lab in San Jose, California. StorPartners are able to leverage the products that have completed 10GbE certification into complete, tested solutions for their customers.
The need to certify 10GbE applications doesn't mean that StorPartner Channel members cannot leverage the power of the Intransa architecture. “The new StorStac Systems, with their end-to-end IP structure, provide customers with complete flexibility meeting both their performance and capacity needs,” said Steve Larson, Principal with Technology Associates.
“Intransa's StorStac System is architected for network based applications. This is a real advantage for our customers,” said John Beveridge, President of Advanced Network Services, Inc.
“The new Intransa StorStac Systems provides our customers with complete flexibility, meeting both their performance and capacity needs,” commented Darwin Malloy, CEO of About Scan.
The StorStac 10GbE PCU100 is the newest addition to Intransa's next generation StorStac System family, announced in March 2007. Up to four PCUs can be used in a single StorStac System. The 10GbE PCU100, like the previously announced 2GbE PCU20, supports multiple SCEs that range in capacity from 3.75 through to 12 terabytes of RAID storage each, and are architected to support 1,000 terabytes. 10GbE PCU100 systems deliver ultra-high performance of up to 3,000 megabyte/second system throughput.
Intransa has been careful not to follow the lead of others in the industry in at least one other critical area. “We're extremely picky about who we recruit to join our StorPartner Channel Program,” said Vaiser. “We want to work with a limited number of industry experts who are true partners, rather than creating a huge channel with resellers and integrators who end up competing with one another instead of focusing on meeting customer needs. We limit the number of partners per market and vertical and put in place our very easy to use StorReg opportunity registration program to protect those who work with us.”
Intransa's new StorPartners are not limited to the northern hemisphere. “Intransa's StorStac PCU100 system with 10 GbE support is ideal for our remote learning and surveillance applications,” said Bob Orosco, Director of Business Development at Inspirit Tecnologias e Sistemas Ltda, in Brazil. Other StorPartners can be found from Chile to China, India to Japan, throughout Europe, and around the world.
In North America, others see the value of StorStac as well. “Intransa's StorStac PCU100 system is precisely the system needed for our clients with its 10 GbE IP interface,” said Paul Mercandetti, president of PPMA.
The Intransa StorStac Systems include StorStac OS software that delivers advanced fail-over, load-balancing, volume management, snapshots and replication features. Intransa StorStac Systems are highly fault tolerant, with all major components hot-swappable, and offer redundant connections to the disk enclosures while providing data availability and accessibility. These high availability features include support of multiple physical mirrors with flexible mirror management and multiple RAID levels.
StorPartner Channel program members receive the latest information on company products, services, programs and material through local Intransa sales teams and targeted webcasts. Other partner communication avenues include Intransa's exclusive StorPortal website and regular issues of the StorBulletin email news magazine.
“Intransa's StorStac System is architected for network based applications. This is a real advantage for our customers,” said Grant Nadell, Director of Technology at DynTek. The Intransa StorPartner program is a perfect choice for industry experts specializing in one or more areas of data storage, information management, security and surveillance, digital imaging, IPTV and video on demand, as well as consolidation and backup and recovery solutions. “Intransa StorStac Systems provide our StorPartners and their customers with proven and scalable IP storage,” concluded John Dean, Director of Business Development and Alliances for Intransa. “Our unique approach to IP storage gives VARs and system integrators a rare opportunity to differentiate themselves in the market while earning significantly higher margins than typically available in the market today. Intransa is excited about the opportunity that we are able to provide our StorPartners through this improved program.”
