Quantum is the latest partner to complete Intransa's 10GbE storage solution certification, the industry's first 10GbE certification program of its kind. Quantum's StorNext software, an alternative to NAS and a leader in the data imaging/content market, has been tested, tuned and certified with Intransa's scalable, enterprise 10 GbE storage solutions which are designed to help customers worldwide rapidly and confidently implement their high performance, high capacity applications.
Shawn Klein, director of Software Partner Development for Quantum said, “Quantum's StorNext software is proven in heterogeneous environments to enable the quick sharing of a high speed pool of images, media, content, analytical data and other digital assets. Intransa's 10GbE StorStac PCU100, announced in May, supports multiple SCEs that can grow from as little as 4 terabytes to over 1,000, with up to 3,000 megabytes/second system throughput. The StorStac System includes Intransa's StorStac OS software delivering fail-over, load-balancing, volume management, snapshots and replications. All major components in Intransa StorStac Systems are hot-swappable, field replaceable units and have redundant connections to the disk enclosures while providing data availability and accessibility by supporting multiple physical mirrors with flexible mirror management.
Quantum's StorNext provides a high performance alternative to NAS, enabling customers to generate revenue faster and store more data at a lower cost. StorNext allows customers to share data at high speed providing for cost effective content retention, consolidated resources and lowering the cost of business assets.
“Businesses are attracted to IP network storage products based on the economics it brings to SANs, but it is the Intransa certification program in addition to the advanced capabilities, management and ease of integration of our StorStac 10GbE System that makes IP network storage a safe and wise investment today,” said Jeff Whitney, vice president, Marketing, Intransa. “Many customers want an alternative to NAS, and I'm pleased to say that Quantum's preferred users can now benefit from the fastest throughput available in today's market in an integrated environment.”
