Intransa Widely Displayed at ASIS Atlanta

Eleven Exhibitors to Demonstrate and Display Intransa's Shared, External IP Storage

SAN JOSE, California — September 12, 2008

Intransa, the global leader of shared, scalable and simple external IP storage solutions, has announced that its products will be demonstrated and integrated with those of eleven different exhibitors at next week's ASIS Atlanta event. ASIS International, the physical security industry's largest annual conference, is being held September 15-17 at the Georgia World Congress Center, 285 Andrew Young International NW, Atlanta, Georgia.

“The physical security industry has rapidly adopted IP technology to gain access to increased reliability and lower costs,” stated Bud Broomhead, CEO of Intransa. “Shared, external IP storage delivers incredible benefits to security practitioners. The variety of StorAlliance Technology Partners who are demonstrating systems integrated with Intransa storage is a great example of the power of IP and open standards.”

StorAlliance Technology Partners displaying systems integrated with Intransa include:

  • AMAG Technology, Inc., booth 1500
  • Cisco Systems, booth 4043
  • Diebold, Incorporated, booth 1526
  • Exacq Technologies, booth 1247
  • JDS Digital Security Systems, booth 458
  • Milestone Systems, booth 511
  • On-Net Surveillance Systems, Inc. (ONSSI), booth 1449
  • Phoenix IVS, booth 4856
  • VidSys, Inc., booth 5155

In addition, the Intransa booth, 541, is being shared with long-time StorAlliance Technology Partners Veracity USA and VideoProtein.

All vendors displaying Intransa products have been certified by Intransa's comprehensive Security-Grade IP Video Storage Program and completed testing through the StorAlliance Technology Labs or the GSO 2010 / GSI 2010 Labs. More than 100 physical security and IT products are part of the program, an example of its widespread industry acceptance.

“Upgrading existing surveillance systems not only saves money and increases reliability and retention, but eliminates the need to rip-and-replace existing analog devices and infrastructure while delivering all of IP's benefits,” continued Broomhead. “Existing cameras, DVRs, software and cabling can be used without change. And, new IP devices ranging from IP network cameras, NVRs, access control systems, biometrics, video analytics and physical security information systems can also be added, all without the risk of moving directly to an all-IP solution.”

Intransa offers shared, external IP storage that is ideal for new, all-IP deployments or as an upgrade to one or more existing DVRs. Upgrading a single DVR with shared, external IP storage can be done for less cost than by adding traditional fixed, captive storage. Solutions start with as little as 2TB of IP storage - ideal for edge recording or to support a few DVRs for 30 days retention - yet can scale modularly when needed to more than 1,500TB of capacity for years of retention at maximum resolution and frame rates.

On September 10, Intransa announced the availability of 12 Reasons for External IP Video Storage, a detailed report that highlights the reasons customers should consider shared, external IP storage. The report is available for download at www.intransa.com, and also from Intransa StorPartner Security Integrators worldwide.

Intransa executives Bud Broomhead and Alan Rowe, CTO, and several others will be participating in the ASIS event and will be available to meet those interested in the latest trends and opportunities in physical security, working from Intransa's booth, 541, on the expo floor.
