How Certification Works... and Why We Do It
Certification and testing is big deal at Intransa, as we want to deliver the best customer experience, for as integrated, high performance and reliable deployments as possible*. To make this goal into a reality, the Intransa Technology Labs jointly test and certify VMS, video analytics, PSIM, access control, utilities and other software applications for physical security use. And we also test and certify standard, megapixel and HD IP surveillance cameras, imaging equipment and additional hardware for use in customer deployments.
As part of that security customer-centric effort, we continue to manage and fund the Intransa Technology Labs. The first program of its kind in the physical security industry, it is still the most comprehensive and successful. Today, hundreds of physical security software applications and hardware products have been tested and jointly certified with their manufacturers. And dozens of additional software applications have received advanced certification at the SELECT and SELECT ELITE levels. These premier certified software products are available loaded on disk, ready for installation & initialization (requires activation key) without requiring Internet access or cumbersome CDs/DVDs onsite.
By testing software and hardware, including standard, megapixel and HD IP surveillance cameras, we uncover bugs, performance issues and missing features that industry standards organizations often don't reveal in their own efforts. That's because we perform actual testing with servers, storage and appliances along with cameras and other hardware to duplicate as closely as possible live customer environments, not just for lab compliance. As a result, integrators and end user physical security system customers receive products with known performance and many unexpected issues removed and eliminated well in advance of installation. That helps ensure successful physical security projects that those deploying commodity IT servers and storage just can't match.

Intransa Technology Labs - The Certification Program
The Intransa Technology Labs offer several levels of software and hardware certification, each requiring testing of physical security vendor software and/or hardware for integration with Intransa server and/or storage infrastructure platforms. The certification process helps to ensure that customer needs are met, before, during, and after installation while delivering a complete, easy out-of-the-box experience.
Testing through the Intransa Technology Labs is a logical progression through CERTIFIED to SELECT CERTIFIED and then finally to SELECT ELITE CERTIFIED level.
INTRANSA CERTIFIED LEVEL
- For software &/or hardware physical security products tested for integration with Intransa server and/or storage infrastructure
- Products qualifying for CERTIFIED status must successfully complete Intransa Technology Lab Level 1 Validation
- This can be accomplished through vendor self-testing remotely with the Intransa Physical Security Test Lab (PS-VTL), by validation onsite in the Intransa Technology Lab facility, or by third party, pre-approved technology labs and/or customer test venues
- All standard Windows and/or Linux operating system products are able to participate in this certification*
INTRANSA SELECT CERTIFIED LEVEL
- For software products that have been tested for advanced certification & integration for loading on disk, ready for installation & initialization (requires activation key)
- For hardware products that have been tested for performance and integration
- Products qualifying for SELECT CERTIFIED status must successfully complete Intransa Technology Lab Level 1 Validation, plus Level 2 Certification & Integration Testing onsite in the the Intransa Techology Lab facility*
- For software products, only those supporting operation in Microsoft Windows Sever 2008 R2 or later operating systems may participate
INTRANSA SELECT ELITE CERTIFIED LEVEL
- For software products that have been tested for advanced certification & integration for loading on disk, ready for installation & initialization (requires activation key)
- For hardware products that have been tested for performance and integration
- Products qualifying for SELECT ELITE CERTIFICATION status must successfully have completed Intransa Technology Lab Level 2 Certification & Integration testing a minimum of six months prior to applying for Intransa Technology Lab Level 3 Certification and Integration testing, onsite in the Intransa Technology Lab facility*
- For software products, only those supporting operation in Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 or later operating systems may participate
* Certification is for the specific application or product version tested, in a typical workload environment as recommended by Intransa and the application manufacturer. SELECT ELITE CERTIFIED level certification testing verifies that the specific version or release of the product has been verified to load &/ or access an Intransa platform category, and that Level 3 Certification & Integration testing was successfully completed. SELECT CERTIFIED level certification testing verifies that the specific version or release of the product has been verified to load &/ or access an Intransa platform category, and that Level 2 Certification & Integration testing was successfully completed. CERTIFIED level certification testing verifies that the specific version or release of the product has been verified to load &/or access an Intransa platform category. Such certification does not guarantee, warrant or protect against software or hardware bugs, deficiencies, malfunctions or other problems with the specific application or product tested, or the performance & reliability of the selected application or product, all of which remain the responsibility of the 3rd party manufacturer.
